Vizcaya Museum and Gardens Hat Luncheon February 2013 in Miami

viz2Vizcaya, a beautiful historic estate in Miami, was built in the 1910’s, a decade in which Gilded Age cultural standards were enlivened by the irreverent spirit of the Jazz Age. It introduces visitors to Miami’s place in this history — a time when America’s wealthiest industrialists created lavish homes inspired by the palaces of Europe.

Cocktail Culture Exhibit at RISD April 15-July 31

Dressing for drinking requires a little cocktail hat to go with your little black dress and champagne!  The fabulous Rhode Island School of Design announces an upcoming exhibit titled “Cocktail Culture: Ritual and Invention in American Fashion 1920-1980” which includes many events and a look at fashions for socializing and vintage hats by Sally Victor, G. Howard Hodge and Mr. John.  Cocktail Culture is sponsored by Swarovski.  Ohhhh sparkles and hats!    Gather your friends for a happy hour with hats, what fun!

An Interview with Hat Museum Curator and Collector Alyce Cornyn-Selby

Hold on to Your Hats! Exhibit at the Gregg Museum of Art & Design

Through June 6, 2010 at North Carolina State in Raleigh, NC.  They have a collection of 150 hats and the fabulous photographs are available online.  You will need to download the description page as well.  Includes many Lilly Dache, Mr. John and Frank Olive as well as ethnic hats from various regions.
