Places we love to shop…Fleur de Paris in New Orleans

Say you are strolling around the French Quarter having a little gumbo here and a few beignets there and need a break.  Step into Fleur de Paris Couture Hat Boutique at 523 Royal Street and you might never come out.  An oasis of all things hatty and girly since 1980, this is the place to find your inner Southern Belle. Don’t ya’ll know it sure is!  Our friend is shown here in one of her favorites – a large natural textured straw with a flirty dipped brim. Black feathers, ribbon and unusual bits of trim complete the look. The hat is lined in satin.  (We are oddly interested in the man in the background wearing very yellow pants.)   This jewel of a shop is always open at

    Oh my! I LOVE this place. I used to know the head designer there, Kim.. and had sold the owner some millinery memorabilia for his re-decorating of the shop, but the next week hurricane Katrina hit. It is on my bucket list! Pam your blog is joy…Barbara
