Vintage Hat of the Day

This bonnet is probably from 1880s (ish) and one of the oldest I own.   The rust velvet bow is wired with navy velvet swirls on top, rust colored trim,  is heavily beaded and some beads are in loops.  It also has paiettes (flat sequins) attached with beads. I purchased it at an antique mall in Galveston, TX in 1986 for $38. I wonder if it had ribbons that tied under the chin? I would love to know more about it.
